The Pride of the Susquehanna was created as a community service project and was built by the people of Central Pennsylvania with donations both large and small. The Pride essentially belongs to the people of Central PA. It is maintained and operated by the Harrisburg Area Riverboat Society, a non–profit, 501(c)3 group. The society is governed by a Board of Director made up of community leaders from the Greater Harrisburg area.
One way you can support The Pride & The Society while at the same time enjoy cruising all season long is to join Friends of the Pride.
The purpose of our organization, in addition to keeping The Pride in operation for the people of Central Pennsylvania and those who visit our area, is to provide a distinctive and historic view of Harrisburg. We also provide unique educational opportunities for students, teachers and parents alike regarding the vast history and ecology associated with our beautiful Susquehanna River.
Since her launch in May of 1987, The Pride has carried more than a half-million passengers.
